The situation in Burma now is more desperate than ever. In Kawthoolei (the area Karen people call their homeland), there are now more than a million people who have fled their homes because or attacks or threat of attacks by the Burmese military. Most are hiding in jungles or mountains, and depend on aid for their survival.

In areas freed from Burmese military control, local people are once again free to be themselves, schools are free to teach in the Karen language, but the threat of airstrikes and drone attacks remain every day.
The Phan Foundation is a small UK registered charity. It is run by Karen volunteers who have themselves had to flee their homes because of Burmese military attacks. The money we raise goes to other Karen organisations who are leading efforts to provide food, shelter, and education to people in Kawthoolei.
